We’re looking for an experienced Welfare Fitter to join our dedicated JP Accommodation Team. You’ll play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing welfare units, ensuring they meet the highest standards and are ready for customer hire.6+

About the Role:

As a Welfare Fitter, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of welfare accommodation units — from fitting out and refurbishment to repair and demobilisation. Working closely with our operations and customer teams, you will ensure welfare units are safe, fully functional, and customer-ready

How This Role Supports the Delivery of Hire Solutions:

Your expertise ensures our welfare units are always ready and fully compliant for hire, minimising downtime and guaranteeing customers receive safe, reliable accommodation solutions when they need them. Main responsibilities include:

Welfare Unit Maintenance & Preparation

  • Fit out, refurbish, and repair welfare accommodation units according to drawings and standard layouts, using hand tools, power tools, saws, measuring instruments, and other equipment.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or malfunctions with welfare units.
  • Perform thorough checks, including off-hires, and report any damages or shortages on hire advice.
  • Attend breakdowns and perform on-site repairs, including work at customer sites as necessary.
  • Perform regular inspections and tests on welfare units and generators to ensure good working order.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations, conducting safety checks and implementing safe working practices.
  • Ensure all work is completed with a focus on quality, productivity, and safety, meeting company standards and customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and related documentation such as checklists, job sheets, and chargeable jobs.

Teamwork & Customer Service

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve operational goals.
  • Maintain high company standards and promote exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues and customers to resolve technical issues and deliver solutions.
  • Support and uphold the company’s values of Safety Consciousness, Dependability, and Responsibility

What Will Make You a Great Fit:

  • Proven experience working with welfare units, including installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for welfare unit fitting.
  • Electrical competence is advantageous; possession of relevant electrical qualifications will be a strong benefit.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work efficiently within timeframes while maintaining safety and quality.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • A valid CSCS card is desirable but not essential
