Are you an experienced HR Manager looking for a rewarding short-term opportunity where you can make a real impact? At Jarvie Plant, we’re seeking a confident and capable HR professional to step into a 6-month fixed-term maternity cover position. You’ll lead a dedicated HR and L&D team, support the business through all aspects of the employee lifecycle, and help maintain a high-performing, people-focused culture.

About the Role:

Based at our Newbridge Head Office and reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll provide support and guidance across the full spectrum of the HR function, while effectively managing and developing our people. You’ll also assist in the development and delivery of HR projects, plans, and tactics that enhance organisational capability and drive performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the HR and Learning & Development team throughout the 6-month contract.
  • Provide trusted support and guidance to managers and employees across all HR matters.
  • Oversee recruitment, selection, and onboarding, including internal appointments and temporary hiring.
  • Collaborate with the L&D Advisor to support training and succession planning.
  • Deliver and develop HR projects and initiatives that improve capability and engagement.
  • Champion a positive workplace culture through strong employee engagement efforts.
  • Manage employee relations, including performance, disciplinary, and absence cases.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and keep HR policies current.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, ensuring GDPR and legal compliance.

What Will Make You a Great Fit:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a senior HR role, preferably within a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proven ability to lead through fixed-term or transitional HR responsibilities.
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards).
  • Solid knowledge of UK employment law and best practice.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills across all levels of the business.
  • Confident handling complex HR matters with professionalism and discretion.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to people and performance management.
  • Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace.
